Issandr El Amrani
Issandr El Amrani is the North Africa Project director for the International Crisis Group, overseeing the conflict prevention and resolution NGO’s work from Morocco to Egypt. Prior to joining the ICG, he was a writer and consultant on Middle East affairs based in Cairo. His reporting and commentary on the region have appeared in The Economist, The London Review of Books, The Financial Times, The National, The Guardian, Time and other publications. He formerly was the editor of the Cairo Times and was a co-founder of Cairo magazine. He writes a blog, arabist.net, on Arab politics and culture. He currently lives in Rabat.
