Anthony McAuley
Anthony McAuley has been a financial journalist for more than 30 years, working for some of the world’s most respected news organizations, including Thomson Financial, The Wall Street Journal, Reuters, The Economist Group and The National (Abu Dhabi), on a wide variety of business and economic topics. He started as a London-based reporter and editor covering the Euromarkets and “the City” for Thomson’s IFR and The Wall Street Journal. He was an Opec reporter for Reuters and then the editor-in-chief of the news agency’s New York-based Americas Energy. At The Economist Group, he was deputy editor of one of its finance magazines and then the launch editor for the EIU Industry Briefing’s energy unit.
He spent three years as a business journalist for The National in Abu Dhabi, covering energy at a time of great upheaval in the industry, as well as the regional economy. Currently, he resides in New Orleans and writes for The Times-Picayune/New Orleans Advocate and various other publications on topics that include world and regional energy, trade, the economy and US policy.
